Rufus (dog)
Owner: Winston Churchill
Dates: 1940 - 1945 (and again 1951 - 1955)
Winston Churchill, the indomitable wartime Prime Minister, had a miniature poodle named Rufus. Rufus was a steadfast companion during some of Britain's darkest days. Churchill's fondness for Rufus was well-known, often bringing him to war meetings and ensuring he was always by his side.
Nelson (cat)

Dates: 1964 - 1976
