James Forrest

James Forrest is a former newspaper reporter turned outdoor and adventure travel writer. He is best-known for completing a three-year mission to climb 1,001 mountains across the UK and Ireland. In 2017 he hiked up all 446 ‘Nuttalls’ in England and Wales; in 2018 he bagged the 273 Irish ‘Vandeleur-Lynams’; and this year he finished with all 282 ‘Munros’ in Scotland. Since then, he has set a self-supported record for hiking all 214 Wainwright fells in the Lake District in just 14 days and 11 hours, and walked from Ben Nevis to Snowdon via Scafell Pike (the National Three Peaks) in a record-breaking 16 days and 14 hours.
