Kelly Smith

At school, Kelly loved geography, physics and mathematics. She started working in construction at 14, ten years later leaving her role as assistant site manager. This matured into a love of all things relating to sustainable development. Kelly has an undergraduate degree in project management for construction, a masters in flood risk assessment, modelling and engineering, and intends to do a PhD in flood risk development and sustainability. Kelly is passionate about the outdoors, a love that began with adventure as a child and grew into teenage curiosity. Now, as an adult, she uses the outdoors as a form of stress relief, seeing fitness for leisure, health, and well-being as hugely important elements of her life. Kelly swims in pools, lakes and the sea, cycles with TWR (Together We Ride), hikes with Black Girls Hike and runs with Black Trail Runners. Follow her journey on Instagram @kellysmith.onthego
