Yes, shoe dryers are a thing and we're not sure how we've been living without one

While a ramble outside is always a treat, the experience is sometimes slightly soiled by aftermath of your shoes. We live in rainy Britain after all, so most days are spent tentatively leaning your walking boots up against the radiator, hoping that they will be just dry enough to wear tomorrow. What if I told you that there was an easier way? Enter: shoe dryers.

We've all heard of hair dryers or clothes dryers – but have you heard of shoe dryers? They are indeed a thing, and we're not sure how we've lived without one in our lives thus far. Consider your life made.

The Snowpea Electric Shoe Dryers are two durable, aerated plastic shells, each housing a ceramic heating element. Designed to slip easily into your footwear, they gently dry at a consistent 55°C, with settings for three, six or nine hours.

A three-hour cycle is ideal for damp shoes, while a full nine-hour session ensures even the wettest boots are thoroughly dried and ready for your next adventure. Brilliant stuff.

Our friend Jack Luke over at BikeRadar tested out these shoe dryers and said: "I’ll admit to having no other experience with shoe dryers. However, given these cost only £24.99 and come with a ringing endorsement from a pair of keen winter riders, I see no reason to recommend anything else to readers and friends alike."

Reviews rave about the Snowpea dryers too, with over 2,000 five-star ratings. One reviewer commented: "These are excellent, as I remember others have said, and the "upgraded version" which extends telescopically is the icing on and already excellent cake. In my opinion there's no risk of burning your footwear, as they are ceramic heating plates that gently produce a local-area warmth that does what it is designed to: dry footwear.

The three-stage timer (3, 6, 9 hours) makes it auto-switch off after the pre-set time has elapsed; the telescopic extension idea of the "upgraded version" adds functionality for larger (therefore longer) footwear, to spread the heat over a longer foot bed... I use this with the footwear standing flat on the floor, as opposed to elevated or upside down, remember the resulting warm moist air needs to vent out of the footwear for the warmth of the plates to evaporate the moisture."

For under £25, this is a sure-fire purchase and your toasty warm and dry feet will thank you. Bring on the British weather! We can handle it now.
