The winners of the Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards 2024 have finally been revealed, narrowing down the incredible shortlist we saw earlier in the year.
Milko Marchetti has been awarded the top prize for his laugh-out-loud photo of a curious squirrel getting 'stuck' in a hole in a tree. Marchetti captured the image in Podere Pantaleone park in Bagnacavallo, Ravenna, Italy.
With around 9,000 entries (the highest ever for the Awards) from professional and amateur photographers, the competition was the toughest it's been in the Awards' 10 year history. Other winners include Sarthak Ranganadhan who was awarded the Nikon Junior (U16) prize for their image of 'smooching' owlets embarrassing a potential offspring.
