A Christmas special where celebrities compete, The Festive Pottery Throw Down, returns to our TV screens on Boxing Day at 9pm, and The Great Pottery Throw Down is back for an eighth series on 5 January at 7.45pm. We take a look at who the judges are and where the programme is filmed.

It aired on BBC Two between 2015–2017, then moved to More4 in 2020. It has been broadcast by Channel 4 since 2021.
Where is The Great Pottery Throw Down filmed?
The Great Pottery Throw Down is filmed at the Gladstone Pottery Museum in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. As Stoke-on-Trent is known as the World Capital of Ceramics, it's certainly a fitting place for it. The Grade II listed site is a working museum which shows the history and development of the pottery industry.
You can visit Gladstone Pottery Museum – though make sure to check the opening times as it does close for seasonal filming. They also offer workshops and makers markets.
