With the last ever episode to be aired on Christmas Day, you might be wondering where the seventeen-year-old sitcom created by Ruth Jones and James Corden was filmed.

Set between Billericay, Essex and Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, the show also stars Matthew Horne, Joanna Page, Rob Byrdon and Alison Steadman to name a few.

Where was Gavin & Stacey filmed?

Though the series takes place in two locations, most of the filming of Gavin and Stacey took place in Barry and the surrounding area.

Gwen and Stacey’s house can be found up a hill in Barry. A common sight in the show, the mid-terraced house is where Stacey, played by Joanna Page, lives with her mum Gwen, who is played by Melanie Walters.

Rob Bryden’s character, Uncle Bryn, lives in a house just opposite Gwen and Stacey’s. Doris, their neighbour, predictably lives next door.

In the village of Dinas Powys which is just down the road from Barry, you can find the home of Pam and Mick, played by Alison Steadman and Larry Lamb that in the show is set in Billericay.

It was the setting for most of the 2008 Christmas Special, with Gavin and Stacey both spending stints living there throughout the series.

Also near Barry is Rhoose, where Dave, played by Steffan Rhodri, has his caravan where he, Nessa, played by Ruth Jones, and their baby live.

On the seafront of Barry Island is an amusement arcade that is the setting for Nessa’s Slots. It’s flanked by a chippie and an ice cream shop and is also next to the wall that Nessa, Smith, Gavin and a pregnant Stacey found themselves sitting atop in the final episode of series three.

Also on Barry’s Island is Marco’s Cafe, a rotunda café that features a lot in series three after Stacey finds a job there.

The Billericay Coach & Horses pub that is host to Smithy’s pub quizzes is also found in Barry and is actually called The Colcot Arms.

Though in the show it’s located in Essex, Ritzy’s Club, which features in series two, is the now-closed nightclub Oceana in Cardiff.

In series one, Gavin and Stacey's wedding was filmed at the St Cattwg’s church in Llanmaes, Vale of Glamorgan. Nearby, the reception was held at the Manor Parc Hotel in Thornhill, Cardiff.

Speaking of marriage, the would-be wedding of Nessa and Dave was to take place at St Peter’s Church in Peterson-Super-Ely, Vale of Glamorgan. The same church was used for baby Naeil’s christening.

In series three, a new job sees Gavin move to Barry. The office he works in was formerly the headquarters of ITV Wales, previously known as HTV Wales and can be found in Culverstone Cross, Cardiff. It has since been demolished. Fans who want to visit the location will instead find new houses.

Finally, in Penarth is the All Saints Church Hall which is where Gwen’s surprise barn dance planned by Uncle Bryn was filmed.
