Mike Dilger is an British television presenter, ecologist, author and has been the wildlife presenter for The One Show since 2007. He has also been a reporter for BBC One’s Inside Out since 2004.
He is also fluent in Spanish and has a working knowledge of Vietnamese and Swahili.

Mike Dilger was born on the 7 November 1966.
Where did he grow up?
Mike Dilger grew up in Stafford in the West Midlands. Before finding an interest in wildlife when he was nine, Mike had a keen interest in trainspotting and stamp collecting.

Mike Dilger studied at the University of Nottingham where he completed a degree in botany, before attending the University College of North Wales (known now as Bangor University) and earned a Master’s degree in Ecology.
What was his first job?
After graduating, Mike Dilger went to Ecuadorian Cloud Forest to study moths.
How did Mike Dilger become a TV presenter?
After spending years in the tropical forests of Vietnam, Tanzania and Peru where he contracted a number of diseases, enough to garner him the title ‘Britain’s most diseased man’, Mike started working in television in 1999, presenting his first wildlife program, Britain’s Wild Invadors for Channel 5 in 2000.

Mike Dilger has presented for a number of different television shows including The One Show (2007–), Inside Out (2004–), Nature’s Top 40 (2008), Wild Gardens (2008) and Nature’s Calendar (2006).
