A diver in Brighton is hoping to hear the pitter patter of tiny fins soon as he is raising baby sharks from egg casings that he found washed up on the beach.
"I’m on Brighton Beach where loads of cool stuff has washed up overnight and, in this cup, I’ve got a few live shark eggs which I’m going to try and hatch,” says Gio Prince on Instagram.
This isn’t the first time Prince has raise baby marine animals. A couple of years ago he set up a hatchery with seawater and an air pump at Brighton Watersports where he works.
He was able to release hundreds of cuttlefish back into the wild as well as a baby small spotted catshark, nicknamed Lenny. He’s hoping to have similar success this season.

"Still a few months to go before they hatch,” says Prince. “Always so rewarding to look after the animals that wash up after storms and give them a second chance at life.
"Fingers crossed soon these pups will be returned to the sea soon!”
