Oyster mushrooms are a shell-shaped fungi which can be found all-year round, but especially after a cold snap.

Greyish white oyster mushrooms can be seen on tree stumps and dead trees throughout the winter – in fact, cold weather often seems to produce more of them.

The species is edible, and delicious, but it’s never advisable to forage for fungi unless with an expert.
